Language and Literature

In the last two weeks we started our unit ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ by Charles Dickens. First, we started our amazingly long and detailed research task for which we were divided into four groups. Two groups were assigned research task on ‘The French Revolution’ and the other two were assigned ‘The life and works of Charles Dickens’. To conduct this task, we were given research organizers. In order to develop this skill, we framed questions that would help us cover all aspects of the topic but we had to be careful about avoiding questions that were either too narrow or too broad. We have now received feedback from our teacher and are finalizing our findings from the various sources. We also started reading the book ‘A Tale of Two Cities’. We have understood the Global Context, Key Concept, Related Concepts and Statement of Inquiry for the unit. Finally, we started analysis of the plot and characters of each of the chapters.
